HOPE Programmes in the East Region

As Singapore constantly introduces new injections into its economy, and while the nation enjoys a period of boom, one cannot but realize the potential threat of terrorism and how that can easily mar our progress & bring the economic train to a grinding halt.

At the same time, one has to admit that socially, the needs of the graying population can easily be over-shadowed by the vibrancy of our island country.

The Christians in the East region have decided to volunteer with HOPE worldwide Singapore with a two-prong approach to (1) support & reinforce racial harmony & (2) to try to meet the needs of the seniors & the elderly.

HOPE worldwide Singapore has worked with AIN Society, an Islamic faith based VWO in 2005 to raise funds that will go to beneficiaries under both organizations. We also set up a joint training fund in 2006 that will provide needy individuals some help to start a business or go back to school.

With the programmes for seniors, we have & will be collaborating with employees of the State Street Bank, through the help of the South East CDC (SECDC), to clean, white wash, apply a fresh coat of paint to some of the homes and also to entertain the elderly in the Bedok/ Kaki Bukit area on (Sat) 30th June 2007.

If you are interested to volunteer your time with us, please do not hesitate to contact Choon Lim (97458106) or Ng Wee Keong (96236204) for details.
