Alvin & Julie Fan
(North/North West Area Ministry & Chinese Ministry)

Alvin Fan was converted as a disciple of Jesus Christ in 1990 in the Chinese Ministry. He graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a diploma in Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering in 1985. During his stint in the national service, he attained Gold awards in both Management presentation and Exhibition in the Army’s WIT project. Subsequently, he worked as an engineer in IHI Marine and Conan Wu & Associates, consultants in ship design. As a young disciple, he was one of the pioneers in the Chinese Ministry. He was called to serve in the full time ministry in 1994 and was appointed as an Evangelist in August 1999.
Julie was baptized in 1989. After running her own business for many years, she sold her business and began working full-time for the church in 1994. Julie was appointed a Woman's Ministry Leader in August 1999 and has helped many women to become lay leaders. Married in 1993, Alvin & Julie now have a young teen daughter and a primary school going daughter.
After dynamically growing the Chinese-speaking ministry for many years, Alvin and Julie were asked to begin leading in the English ministry as well. They now lead singles, young marrieds, and parents in both the North/Northwest (English) ministry and Chinese ministry of Singapore. They also oversee the church in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Both Alvin and Julie are Family Life Educators. They received their certification from Swinburne University in Australia and Family Resource Training Centre, Singapore. Alvin has proven an invaluable asset to the staff, as a brilliant Mandarin speaker, writer and translator.
