Phua Hee & Angelia Phua

Phua Hee, a Singaporean, started working for the church in 2001 after he completed his national service (NS). Prior to his stint in the NS, he had never before lived in Singapore. He was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and finished his education in the United States with a double major in biology and psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. During his National Service, Phua Hee was a project assistant in the Psychological Health Department, researching mental health issues faced by soldiers. Phua Hee has embraced Singapore as his home, and hopes that by serving full-time in the church, he can have a positive impact on the community. Phua Hee's love for music is expressed in singing for the church worship team and choir. He also enjoys serving the community, and currently volunteers with the Boy's Home in befriending juvenile delinquents. He married fellow Singaporean Angelia Low in 2003 and they are currently leading the South Central Region of the church.
Angelia, is the newest woman staff member and leads the singles ministry in South Central together with her husband, Phua Hee. Baptized at the young age of 18, she always had a dream to eventually go into the church ministry full-time. In her college days, she pursued a career in industrial design and stage productions. This saw her garner a merit in a 1997 Young Designer's competition. She received a scholarship to study design, and earned her degree in design at the University of Canberra, Australia. After finishing her degree, she was able to fulfil her life-long dream of serving full time in the ministry. These two young marrieds serve the church in many ways and have easily become indispensable members of the staff.
